Grandpa came to town!
Grandpa Eliason first flew into Dallas, TX and stayed with Alisa and her family for a few days and then they all came up here. Alisa and kids only stayed 24 hours but we packed a lot of fun in! We went to Larry's Pizza where Aunt Alisa and Grandpa spoiled our kids with tokens for the bright flashy toys. They even won a couple of bouncy balls with their tickets. They were stoked! We went with grandpa to the park at Old Mill in North Little Rock. The boys love the wooden train. All Aboard!
Last Thursday grandpa treated us to "All Aboard" which is a restaurant where you order your food and a choo choo train on a track above everyone's head delivers your food to your table. The boys LOVE this place! On Thursday they didn't have the hat displayed below so Austin talked grandpa into bringing him back today since they got more hats in. Not sure who had more fun, grandpa or the boys! When I dropped grandpa off at the airport, Axel was giving me confused looks. When we got home, he ran over to the kitchen table where grandpa sometimes hung out with his laptop and cried. He was definitely expressing his sadness of grandpa being gone. It was really cute!
We thought it would be funny to buy grandpa a hunting mask since it gets cold in Utah. We expect grandpa to use this while he is doing yardwork in Utah. Guaranteed to reduce crime rates! As you can see Austin in only in his underwear, his favorite outfit. When we ask him to put clothes on, he says, "but I have underwear on!" You are only 3 once right?!
Grandpa Two Rivers Bridge and Big Dam Bridge
Who doesn't love to say, "Let's go to the Big Dam Bridge!" That is what it is really called. We took grandpa on this 3.2 mile walk a couple of times while he was here visiting. How cute is this picture of grandpa and Axel?!
This was the view I got to enjoy from behind when both of the boys wanted to walk/run with grandpa. Life doesn't get any better than this!
Bobo brothers
Austin absolutely loves the show Diego. It is show where they mix in Spanish words with English. It is a great way for kids to learn some Spanish words. There are two monkeys called the Bobo brothers that are always getting into trouble. Tom always calls these two the Bob brothers which is so fitting!
They are best friends and we LOVE watching them enjoy each other and egg each other on. I had just asked Austin to not pull Axel down the slide. I turned away for a second and he grabbed Axel and pushed him down. The trouble with trying to stop them from being crazy is that Axel loves it when his big brother challenges him to stuff that freaks me out haha! This picture captures their personalities!
Gayla's burned arm-Boo!
About six weeks ago, I burned my arm on the oven saving Axel from touching the oven. It didn't really hurt the first night and I didn't even run it under cold water. About 36 hours later, I woke up in the middle of the night unable to move my arm. I applied Aloe Vera and blisters began to form immediately. I have never seen blisters like this before! Tom was a great hubby and let me sleep in the other room so nothing would touch it through the night. It was a rough few weeks to keep the kids from looking, breathing, and especially not touching this!
I decided to follow the herbal path for this ailment. Under the direction of my sister Cynthia whose daughter decided to step on the stove with both feet when she was three about 11 years ago went through a rough burn situation. The doctors weren't able to help much so my mom coordinated with her herbal buddies and Cynthia used the mixture of Comfrey powder, wheat germ oil, and raw honey and applied that mixture twice a day re-wrapping each time with a gauze bandage.

Playgroup in Little Rock
I absolutely love our playgroup from church that meets on Tuesday mornings and sometimes on Fridays. Austin is buddies with so many cute boys from the ward. This is with Thomas Nance and Grant Bugg on a zoo visit. They all wanted to hop up on the gorilla together. These playgroups allow Austin and Axel to socialize and run crazy with other kids. Luckily there are a ton of little boys in our ward. I feel so blessed to have so many fun, cool moms to hang out with while our kids have a blast!
